Gionee seems to be working on a new smartphone that will flaunt an 18:9 edge-to-edge display. While the company hasn’t dropped any hints thus far, the smartphone has made an appearance on benchmarking website GFXBench. This listing reveals all the key specifications with the highlight being the 6-inch FHD+ display with a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels.
According to reports, the Gionee smartphone spotted on GFXbench may be the successor to Gionee S10, which was launched in May this year. The Gionee S11 is likely to feature 18:9 FullView Display that is also a feature of the Gionee S10. Considering the phone will have a FullView Display, it is likely to feature a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. If the rumors stand true, Gionee S11 would be the third smartphone to sport a FullView Display after Gionee M7 and Gionee Steel 2 Plus.
According to the listing, the smartphone will be powered by a MediaTek MT6763 chipset clocked at 2.3GHz, and paired with 4GB of RAM. There might also be an internal storage of 64GB, which could be expanded using a microSD card. The Gionee S11 will run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with the company’s Amigo UI on top.
The benchmarking site further reveals that the Gionee S11 might sport a 16-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. There is no confirmation on whether the smartphone would feature dual rear and front cameras. While the listing doesn’t reveal the battery, reports hint at a 3,500mAh capacity.
