Gmail Android app update brings reply, archive and delete options in notifications

Google today has launched a new version of Gmail for Android that offers an improved interface with options to take actions like replying, deleting and archiving mails from notifications. The new app is been rolled out on devices running Android v4.1 Jelly Bean and up.

This new version of the application enables users to reply, archive or delete messages right from notifications with one tap, unlike earlier which required one to open the app and then perform these actions. Moreover, it now lets users to customize notifications for mails with different labels. Users can put the reception notification on or off for different labels and can also allot different ringtones for individual labels.

The new app also carries improved search suggestions which lets users look for their messages faster in online as well as offline mode.
