Besides the rumored mini Google Home speaker, the company is also said to be working on a bigger variant of the Google Assistant integrated smart speaker. Dubbed as the Google Home “Max,” the large variant is currently said to be under development, 9to5Google reports.

As per the report, Google Home Max will boast of stereo speakers. The alpha Google Speaker is said to take on the likes of Sonos Play 3 home speaker which comes with a number of bundled streaming services. Speaker maker Sonos has also announced that its home speakers will get Amazon Alexa voice assistant and the company will soon launch one with voice assistant.

Google is currently planning for the said launch of second-generation Pixel smartphones on October 4. There is no word on whether the company will announce the Google Home Max at the launch event. The product has earlier been teased in leaks alongside the mini Google Home, new Chromebook OS notebook and smart headphone. Out of these products, the Google Assistant-powered headphone went official earlier this month. The headphones are designed and developed by Bose and feature an action button to activate the voice assistant. ALSO READ: Google Home Mini, Pixelbook leaked ahead of October 4 launch

Going by rumors, it would be interesting to see how Google Home Max spear fares against Apple HomePod speakers that comes with Siri assistance and intelligent stereo speakers. Whereas, the yet to be announced Google Home Mini will compete with Amazon Alexa based Echo Dot. Also, Amazon today announced Echo Spot, an alarm clock that will allow users to make calls and stream music. The Echo Spot is priced at $130 (approximately Rs 8,500). As far as the beefed-up variant of Google Home speaker is concerned, we recommend you to take the information with the proverbial grain of salt. Google has not yet made any official statement on the existence of such a product. Also, production development stage remain sketchy which makes the picture even more blurry.
