Honor 7X to go on sale in India on December 7: What we know so far

Amazon India has listed the Honor 7X, and has started registrations for the upcoming smartphone.

Huawei’s Honor brand is set to launch the Honor 7X smartphone in India. While reports have hinted towards an early December launch, we now have a specific date. As per an Amazon India listing, the Honor 7X will be going on sale on December 7.

Amazon India has a landing page dedicated to the Honor 7X. The banner at the top reveals that Honor’s upcoming smartphone will be an Amazon India exclusive, and sales are set to kick off at 12:00PM on December 7. The e-commerce site is currently taking registrations for the smartphone, and those who do register stand a chance to win a few prizes. These include paid trips, smartphones, powerbanks, and headphones.

Honor 7X prices

The Honor 7X was initially launched in China last month. As the name suggests, it is essentially the successor to the Honor 6X that was launched earlier this year.

The smartphone was launched in three variants – 32GB variant priced at RMB 1,300 (approximately Rs 12,900), 64GB variant priced at RMB 1,700 (approximately Rs 16,900), and 128GB variant priced at RMB 2,000 (approximately Rs 19,800).

It remains to be seen which of these variants, and at what price Honor plans on launching the Honor 7X India. It has however promised that the smartphone will boast an ‘aggressive’ price tag in the country.

Honor 7X specifications, features

As far as specifications are concerned, the Honor 7X flaunts a 5.93-inch full HD+ resolution display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. There is also a 2.5D glass on top. The smartphone is powered by a Kirin 659 octa-core SoC paired with 4GB of RAM.

For photography, the Honor 7X is equipped with a dual-camera setup which is a combination of a 16-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensors. Up front, the smartphone houses an 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calling. Keeping the smartphone ticking is a 3,340mAh battery. On the software front, the Honor 7X runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with EMIU 5.1 on top.

In the meanwhile, Honor is also gearing up to launch another smartphone, called the V10. The smartphone is set to be launched on December 5 at an event in London, and is widely reported to be coming to India sometime in January. The device was recently listed on TENAA, accompanied by renders and a set of alleged specifications and features.

As is the ongoing trend, the Honor V10 too will flaunt bezel-less display, and will boast an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled chipset. The smartphone is expected to flaunt a 5.99-inch full HD+ resolution display, and powered by a Kirin 970 SoC.

The rest of the rumored specifications include 6GB of RAM, 128GB internal storage, 3,750mAh battery, and a dual-camera setup – 16-megapixel snapper + 20-megapixel snapper. For selfies, there is likely to be a 13-megapixel snapper, and on the software front, the device will run on EMUI 8.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo.
