With face unlock being one of the hottest features for smartphones since its mainstream success with the Apple iPhone X, many Android smartphones have come with the feature. Honor first introduced the feature on its most recent flagship device, the Honor View10, which was launched in January this year. However, in a move that will be appreciated by buyers of Honor’s previous flagship device, the Honor 8 Pro is said to be receiving the face unlock feature through an OTA update.
The Honor 8 Pro was launched in mid-2017 on Android Nougat, but received an update to Android Oreo earlier this year with EMUI 8.0. Now, Honor India has confirmed on its Twitter handle through a reply to a Twitter user that an update for the Honor 8 Pro with face unlock has started to roll out already. However, the update is said to be rolling out slowly, so all users may not immediately receive the software update.
We would like to inform you that our team has started to roll out the face unlock feature with B320 update for Honor 8 Pro. However, the update is rolling out in small batches.
