Honor View 10 users are now receiving much awaited EIS feature for the camera with a new firmware update starting July 24. Huawei’s sub-brand Honor on its official blog noted about the update rollout. This new version will update Honor View 10’s software to version BKL-L09 22.214.171.124 and will enable electronic image stabilization (EIS) feature. Not just that, the update also adds ‘Call recorder’ feature and ‘Ride mode’ feature.
This update to EMUI 126.96.36.199 also includes a July security patch merged with Google security patches to make Honor View 10 more secure. Lastly, Honor has addressed a common complaint about the heating issue and thus it gets ‘Thermal optimization’ to keep the device cool.
The update will rollout in batches from July 24, and in India from tomorrow July 25, noted Honor’s official blog post.
Honor View 10 first went on sale in India in January at Rs 29,999. The flagship smartphone from Huawei’s sub-brand Honor is exclusively on Amazon India via open sale. The smartphone is powered by company’s own HiSilicon Kirin 970 chipset, which also includes a dedicated Neural Processing Unit for handling AI-related tasks. As for the software, it was shipped with EMUI 8.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo at the time of the launch.
The dual-lens camera on Honor View 10 includes a 16-megapixel RGB lens (f/1.8 aperture) paired with a 20-megapixel monochrome lens. It didn’t support EIS back then, but now with the update the camera now gets EIS for video recording, which should result in less shaky videos.
