Last month, an entry-level smartphone by HTC surfaced on the web. The smartphone dubbed ‘HTC Breeze’ boasts a full-screen display with 18:9 aspect ratio as its key highlight. Now as per the latest details revealed by serial tipster Evan Blass, the smartphone could be launched with the ‘HTC Desire 12’ moniker.
In his latest tweet, Blass notes that HTC’s upcoming smartphone will be marketed as ‘HTC Desire 12’. In his previous tweet, he had revealed detailed specifications of the smartphone. Going by those, the internally codenamed ‘HTC Breeze‘ smartphone will boast a 5.5-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio. With the full-screen display, the smartphone could possibly be the first from HTC’s budget segment.

Other specifications of the HTC Desire 12 include an unspecified MediaTek SoC with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. For optics, the smartphone is likely to get regular camera setup with a single 13-megapixel sensor at the back and a 5-megapixel sensor up front. It is expected to be fueled by a humble 2,730mAh battery.
Although there is no official announcement, HTC might announce the Desire 12 at the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC 2018). However, some reports indicate that the company is likely to have a mute presence at the tech event. The most that is expected from the company is the HTC Vive Pro. The second-generation virtual reality headset was first detailed at Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2018).
In its second-generation edition, the Vive Pro gets an upgrade in terms of resolution as it now supports a resolution of 2880×1600 pixels through its dual OLED displays. It also comes with integrated headphones with built-in amplifier for a more enhanced audio experience. A renewed strap design has been added for comfort. There are dual microphones and dual cameras on the front.
Meanwhile, HTC is also speculated to be working on what is touted as the ‘world’s first 5G smartphone’. Called HTC U12, the smartphone will be the successor to the U11. It is likely to feature a 4K display with 18:9 aspect ratio, dual-camera setup, and flaunt an all-glass body.
