HTC recently sent out media invites for a launch event on January 15 (today), where the company is widely expected to launch the U11 EYEs. However, there seems to be no stopping the last minute leaks and rumors. Alleged official renders of the smartphone as well as specifications and features have surfaced online.
The renders were first spotted by Slashleak on HTC Taiwan’s Facebook page. The device is said to feature a 5.99-inch display with a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels, and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The image shows the presence of dual front-facing cameras, which is in line with previous reports. On the back, there is a single camera with dual-LED and dual-tone flash.
Below the primary camera is a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, and on the bottom is a USB-type C port for fast charging. Leaks have suggested that the smartphone will come in three different color variants – black, silver, and red. The U11 EYEs is said to be made out of metal and glass with rounded corners and thin bezels.
In terms of other specifications, HTC U11 EYEs is expected to launch in two variants – one featuring Snapdragon 652 SoC, 4GB RAM, and 64GB internal storage, and the other featuring Snapdragon 660 SoC, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of memory. The smartphone is rumored to be fueled by a 3,930mAh battery. As of now, the smartphone is only expected to launch in China and Taiwan, but later the company might launch the smartphones in other markets too.
