Earlier today, we saw the HTC U11 EYEs leak in all its glory leaving very little to the imagination. Now, the smartphone has been made official. The U11 EYEs is currently listed on HTC’s Taiwan website with specifications, features, photos, et al.
The HTC U11 EYEs is currently restricted to the Taiwan market, but it is soon expected to be available in other countries as well. The smartphone is available for pre-order with a price tag of NT$14,900, which is approximately Rs 32,000. Buyers will be able to choose from black, blue and red color options.
As the name suggests, the U11 EYEs looks quite a bit like its more expensive U11 Plus smartphone. HTC has used a combination of metal and glass to build the smartphone. There are very thin bezels around the screen up front, and the company has opted for on-screen buttons for navigation. Needless to say, the combination provides the smartphone with a premium look.
HTC U11 EYEs specifications, features
As far as specifications are concerned, the U11 EYEs flaunts a 6-inch full HD+ (2160×1080 pixels) Super LCD 3 display with Corning Glass 3 protection. Under the hood is a Snapdragon 652 octa-core SoC paired with 4GB of RAM. There is 64GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 2TB using a microSD card.
The front camera is among the USPs of the smartphone. Up front, there is a pair of 5-megapixel snappers with f/2.2 aperture, BSI sensor and wide-angle lens. At the back, there is a 12-megapixel UltraPixel 3 camera with f/1.7 aperture, OIS support and 4K video recording support.
Making sure everything ticks is a 3,930mAh battery with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 support. HTC says that the battery is good enough to offer up to 28.3 hours of talktime on VoLTE, and up to 18.3 days on standby mode.
There is a fingerprint sensor placed at the back, and the device is resistant to water and dust courtesy of IP67 certification. Inspired by the likes of Apple iPhone X and OnePlus 5T, the HTC U11 EYEs also supports face unlock feature.
Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots (hybrid setup), 4G LTE support, Bluetooth 4.2 support, NFC, GPS, USB Type-C port, and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz). On the software front, the U11 EYEs runs on Android OS wrapped under HTC’s Sense UI. Similar to what we have seen on the HTC U11+ and Google Pixel 2 XL, this new smartphone too supports Edge Sense. This feature basically lets you squeeze the sides of the device to perform tasks like launching the camera or silence an incoming call, among others.
