With LG launching the G7 ThinQ last night, HTC is one of the few remaining players yet to launch a flagship device this year. The device, believed to be called the HTC U12+, has leaked quite a few times before but the company is yet to announce an official launch date. Until now that is.
HTC has taken to Twitter to tease a launch on May 23. The image shows a few internal components of a smartphone and the date 23.05.2018. Along with the image is the caption – “Coming Soon. A phone that is more than the sum of its specs”. While the teaser doesn’t explicitly mention it, the smartphone being teased is no doubt the flagship HTC U12+. The date also falls in line with the mid-late May launch time frame that has been rumored so far.

In line with the current trend, the upcoming smartphone will flaunt an 18:9 aspect ratio display, but without the notch at the top. The smartphone is said to feature a glass back with curved edges, and HTC’s signature ‘liquid surface’ design with a mirror finish.
