Huawei seems to be facing a tough time zeroing on what to call its next P-series flagship smartphone. After Huawei trademarked the P20 moniker last year in July, we were all naturally hoping that would be the successor of the Huawei P10 series, but then earlier this month Huawei also trademarked the P11 moniker. Now, adding to this confusion is tipster Roland Quandt who claims that the next generation of P-series will be named as Huawei P20.
Quandt’s tip hints that the smartphone will come in three variants, the Huawei P20, Huawei P20 Plus and Huawei P20 Lite. Internally, these devices are codenamed Emily, Charlotte and Anne respectively. (Someone at the team is surely inspired by the Bronte sisters). He also revealed that the smartphone will be available in Ceramic Black and Twilight color options, except the Huawei P20 Lite will apparently come in Midnight Black, Klein Blue, and Sakura Pink color option.

Be it P11 or P20, Huawei is likely to skip next month’s Mobile World Congress 2018, and launch the smartphone at a separate event in late March or early April. However, this doesn’t mean that the company won’t make an appearance at the event. The company may instead showcase other products from its portfolio.
From what we know so far, the new Huawei flagship device is likely to follow 2017 trend, and come with a dual-rear camera setup – an RGB lens and a monochrome lens. The smartphone could also feature a 4,000mAh battery.
