Huawei has quite clearly let Samsung hog all the limelight at the ongoing MWC 2018. Instead, the company plans to unveil its flagship devices at an event in Paris on March 27. With about a month to go, alleged official renders of the P20 and P20 Plus smartphones have surfaced online.
The leaked renders, courtesy of iChangeZone, show what the front of the Huawei P20 and the P20 Plus could look like. We must admit that the smartphone does look contemporary with its near bezel-less look and Apple iPhone X-like notch up top. The P20 is seen sporting a physical button up front that will no doubt have a fingerprint sensor embedded. The slightly taller P20 Plus, on the other hand, is likely to feature the sensor at the back allowing it to sport even slimmer bezels up front.
Besides the modern design, the highlight of Huawei’s upcoming smartphones is said to be a triple camera setup at the back. This setup is said to include a 12-megapixel RGB sensor, 16-megapixel monochrome sensor, and a 16-megapixel telephoto lens. Rumors also hint at a f/1.8 aperture, and possible OIS support.
The rest of the rumored specifications include a 6-inch 2160×1080 pixel display for the Plus variant, Kirin 970 SoC, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and a 4,000mAh battery. Up front, there will be an 8-megapixel selfie camera.
Interestingly, Huawei is quite bullish about its upcoming smartphones. So much so that Huawei’s head of consumer business, Richard Yu said that the upcoming smartphones will be better than the iPhone X, CNBC reports.
