With less than 20 days to Huawei’s P20 launch event, there seems to be no stopping the barrage of leaks. After yesterday’s pretty extensive leak, an alleged image of the P20 Pro has surfaced online again hinting at a funky color variant.
The Huawei P20 Pro image has been leaked courtesy of leakster Evan Blass. The image shows the back panel of the upcoming smartphone, and hints at a Chromatic color option. Chromatic essentially includes a mixture of multiple colors to give a sort of gradient look. In the image seen above, the P20 Pro seems to get a mixture of purple, blue and green colors.
We must admit, this Chromatic look is quite funky, and is a far cry from the boring colors we have become used to on smartphones. Recent leaked renders have shown that the P20 Pro will also be available in more sober black and blue colors. It remains to be seen if the P20 and the P20 Lite too get this Chromatic color option.
While companies lately have started experimenting a bit with colors (look at the Lilac Purple variant of the Samsung Galaxy S9), Huawei seems to be taking things to the next level. We really hope Huawei launches this variant, and it also goes on to encourage other companies to experiment a bit more with colors.
All three upcoming Huawei smartphones feature a similar design language. There are slim bezels surrounding the 18:9 aspect ratio display, and an Apple iPhone X-like notch at the top. There are however subtle differences, including the placement of the fingerprint sensor.
Among the highlights of the P20 series will be their photographic chops. The P20 Pro, especially, is widely expected to boast a triple-camera setup at the back. This setup is likely to include a RGB sensor, a monochrome sensor, and a telephoto lens that will allow lossless zoom.
A recent leak hinted at a possible pricing of the three smartphones. The P20 is expected to be priced at €679 (Rs 54,000 approximately), the P20 Pro at €899 (Rs 72,000 approximately), whereas the P20 Lite will be the least expensive with a price tag of €369 (Rs 30,000 approximately).
