After a launch in Paris last month, Huawei has today brought two of its P20-range smartphones to India. The Chinese company has launched the top-end P20 Pro, as well as a toned down version, called the P20 Lite. Read on for the smartphones’ prices, availability, specifications, and features.
Huawei P20 Pro, P20 Lite prices, availability
The Huawei P20 Pro, as the name suggests is the more expensive of the two with a price tag of Rs 64,999. The P20 Lite, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 19,999. Both smartphones will be exclusively available via Amazon India from May 3. Pre-orders for the smartphones kick off today on the e-commerce website.
Huawei P20 Pro, P20 Lite features
Both the new Huawei devices feature metal and glass unibody design. In line with the current trends, the two smartphones feature a tall full-screen display with a notch at the top. Buyers will be able to choose from three color options – black, blue, and twilight (changes colors when exposed to light).
Huawei P20 Pro specifications
As far as specifications are concerned, the P20 Pro flaunts a 6.1-inch full HD+ OLED display with an aspect ratio of 18.7:9. It is powered by Huawei’s AI-based Kirin 970 octa-core SoC with a neural processing unit (NPU). The NPU is basically used for object recognition, and automatic screen recognition when clicking photos. There is also 6GB of RAM onboard, as well as 128GB internal storage.
The P20 Pro’s talking point however is the triple-camera setup at the back – a first on smartphones. The setup includes a 40-megapixel primary RGB sensor, an 8-megapixel 3X telephoto secondary sensor, and a 20-megapixel monochrome sensor. The cameras are Leica branded with apertures ranging from f/1.6 to f/2.4. The P20 Pro also lets you record 960fps slow-motion videos in HD resolution.
The rest of the features on the P20 Pro include a 24-megapixel front camera, face unlock feature, 4,000mAh battery with SuperCharge fast charging technology, and IP67 certification for water and dust resistance. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 4G with VoLTE, Bluetooth, GPS, and Wi-Fi. On the software front, the smartphone runs Android 8.1 Oreo with a layer of EMUI 8.1 on top.

Huawei P20 Lite specifications
As for the Huawei P20 Lite, it flaunts a 5.84-inch full HD+ resolution display with the same 18.7:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood is Huawei’s HiSilicon Kirin 659 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of inbuilt storage that is expandable using a microSD card.
For photography, there is a vertically-aligned dual-camera setup at the back. The setup includes a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. For selfies, there’s a 16-megapixel camera. The P20 Lite is fuelled by a 3,000mAh battery, and comes with features like NFC and face recognition. On the software front, it too runs Android 8.1 Oreo with a layer of EMUI 8.1 on top.
