iBall has launched the Slide 3G 7271 HD7 dual-SIM tablet which comes with 3G support on both SIM card slots. This is an upgraded version of the company’s 3G 7271 tablet, with a better processor and newer Android version. It is priced at Rs 8,399.
The iBall Slide 3G 7271 HD7 tablet comes with a 7-inch display with 1024×600 pixels resolution, while the previous variant had a 7-inch WVGA (480×800 pixel) display. However, unlike what the company claims, this does not come with an HD display.
Features-wise, the processor in the tablet has been changed to a 1.3GHz dual-core Cortex-A7 chipset from the 1GHz dual-core Cortex A9 processor on the previous model. The 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage, as well as the 2-megapixel rear camera on the Slide 3G 7271 however remains like its predecessor. Connectivity options in the tablet includes Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and A-GPS.
On the software front, the tablet offers Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out-of-box unlike the earlier version which ran on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
At this price point, the tablet will compete against the likes of the Google Nexus 7 (2012 Edition) and the recently launched Simmtronic XPad Turbo, both of which are available at similar price point but do not offer dual-SIM 3G connectivity.
