Countering Reliance Jio’s ‘Football Offer’ and Airtel’s ‘Mera Pehla Smartphone‘ initiative, Idea Cellular has extended its Rs 2,000 cashback offer on the purchase of any 4G smartphone. The offer was first introduced in January, and was applicable on the purchase of Karbonn smartphones. However, the company is now offering the same cashback on the 4G smartphone of your choice.
The offer is valid for both prepaid and postpaid subscribers of Idea Cellular. Prepaid subscribers can avail the cashback by achieving a cumulative recharge value of Rs 3,000 for the first 18 months to receive a partial cashback of Rs 750. To achieve this value, the best-suggested recharge plan is that of Rs 199 or more each month. With the basic recharge plan, you get unlimited calls across all networks, 1.4GB/day data quota, 100 SMS/day, and free roaming (outgoing and incoming), for a validity of 28 days.
To avail the remaining cashback amount, you will be required to achieve the same recharge value of Rs 3,000 for the next 18 months. So for instance, for a Rs 5,000 smartphone, you will receive the Rs 2,000 cashback over the period of 36 months (three years) after you make recharges worth Rs 6,000 in total.
For postpaid subscribers, the terms vary a little. If you are a postpaid Idea subscriber, you will be required to opt for a Nirvana voice combo plan priced at Rs 389 for the duration of 36 months. Once you subscribe to a monthly plan, you don’t have to worry about reaching the cumulative recharge value after every 18 months. You can also consider opting for higher plans priced at Rs 449, Rs 459 and Rs 509. The cashback value remains the same as prepaid users. You will receive Rs 750 after the first 18 months, and the remaining Rs 1,250 will be credited after the next 18 months.
The offer starts today and is valid for all Idea subscribers when they buy a new 4G smartphone of any brand. The cashback offer will be available until April 30, 2018.
In comparison, Reliance Jio has a list of supported devices which are eligible for its Football Offer. As part of the offer, the operator offers a cashback of Rs 2,200 when customers buying any of the eligible devices perform a recharge of Rs 198 or Rs 299 on to avail the offer. The cashback is provided in the form of 44 vouchers of Rs 50 each, which can be redeemed on subsequent recharges.
Airtel, on the other hand, has partnered with brands such as Karbonn, Nokia, and Samsung, to offer cashback of up to Rs 2,000. The cashback value varies from brand to brand, and requires the subscribers to achieve a set of cumulative recharge values over a period of time.
