The Department of Telecom (DoT) has given the final nod for Vodafone – Idea Cellular merger, and Idea is all set to become the largest telecom operator with 430 million users in India. Vodafone has already gone aggressive with its data plans to take on Airtel and Reliance Jio. Now, Idea Cellular has rolled out a new entry-level prepaid plan priced at Rs 75.
The plan comes with 1GB 2G/3G/4G data, and 100 SMS. Idea is also offering 300 minutes of local and national voice calling. The plan comes with a validity of 28 days, and it is only available in circles with 4G connectivity.

Vodafone, on the other hand, launched the Rs 47 plan that offers a validity of 28 days, 7,500 seconds (125 minutes) calling, and 50 free SMS. The plan also comes bundled with 500MB of data. Overall the benefits are lesser compared to Idea’s plan, but Vodafone plan is also priced relatively lower.
Reliance Jio, on the other had, has a plan priced at Rs 49 plan for JioPhone users. It offers 1GB of 4G data, unlimited voice calling without any FUP and 50 SMS for 28 days. There is also a Rs 98 plan that offers 28 days validity, 2GB 4G data, unlimited voice calling, and 300 free SMS.
Airtel also recently revised its Rs 99 plan which offers a validity of 28 days and offers unlimited voice calls without any FUP. Users also get 2GB 3G / 4G data, and 100 daily SMS, which means 2,800 through the validity period.
