Instagram is a paradise for people who want to see what other people have been doing without them knowing. And as if to make amends to that to a certain extent, Instagram had announced in February that it was working on a feature where it will alert people with a message when someone tries to screenshot their Stories.
As for the people who try to screenshot Stories of other people Instagram had said that they will be given a warning of sorts in the following manner, “Next time you take a screenshot or screen recording, the person who posted the story will be able to see it.”
But now, the social media company that is owned by Facebook has said to BuzzFeed News that they are not planning to roll out any such features and have stopped the testing. This would come as a sign of relief for the creepy people out there who are used to recording screens of other people’s Instagram Stories.
This feature was first introduced famously by Snapchat, and Instagram like it has done for many features from Snapchat, tried to actuate this in their own way. People can still see who have viewed their stories by swiping up to access the list of the names. But they will not have any clue if someone makes a recording of the evanescent Stories. Making recordings of Stories kind of defeats their purpose of being available for a limited time, and many believe that Instagram should have gone ahead with this feature
