Intex Aqua i5 Mini launched, priced at Rs 6,850: Specifications, features and comparison


Intex today has launched the Aqua i5 Mini smartphone, which is the mini variant of the company’s recently launched Aqua i5 HD smartphone. The Aqua i5 Mini is a 4.5-inch phone priced at Rs 6,850.

In terms of specifications, the phone comes with a 4.5-inch FWVGA (854×480 pixels) display while its bigger variant flaunts a 5-inch HD display. It runs on a 1.3GHz quad-core chipset with Mali 400 GPU and 1GB of RAM. On the storage front, it comes with 4GB of internal storage which is expandable by up to 32GB using a microSD card.

The Aqua i5 Mini sports an 8-megapixel rear auto focus camera with flash, and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera with geo tagging. In addition to that, Intex is offering 5GB of cloud storage. Connectivity options include dual-SIM support, 3G support, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. It runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, which comes with company’s customized theme based UI. Other features in the phone include a 1,500mAh battery, sensors like light, proximity and G-sensor.

At this price, the phone will be up against Micromax’s Unite 2 and Motorola’s Moto E among others. Both the phones come with Android 4.4.2 KitKat with guaranteed software update and are priced at Rs 6,999. In terms of specs, the Unite 2 features a 4.7-inch WVGA display, 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB internal storage, 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.

Motorola’s Moto E, on the other hand, comes with a 4.3-inch qHD (960×540 pixels) display, is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 200 dual-core chipset paired with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. It features a 5-megapixel rear camera, but misses out on a front camera. Other features include Android 4.4 KitKat, a 1,980mAh battery and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, 3G support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
