Back in November last year, we reported about Aqua i17, the first smartphone from Intex to be powered by MediaTek’s “true” octa-core MT6592 chipset. Today the company has launched the device in India as ‘Intex Aqua Octa’ for Rs 19,999. The device is available on e-commerce site Snapdeal and will hit retail stores later this month on January 15.
Talking of specifications, the Aqua Octa flaunts a 6-inch HD IPS (1280×720 pixels) display and as mentioned above, is powered by a MediaTek MT6592 octa-core SoC clocked at 1.7GHz and paired with 700 MHz Mali 450-MP4 GPU and 2GB of RAM.
Other features include a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, auto focus and support for 1080p video recording, 5-megapixel front camera, and a 2,300mAh battery, which the company claims is good enough for six hours of talktime and 180 hours on standby mode. In terms of storage, the Aqua Octa Octa gets 16GB of internal memory that can be expanded to up to 32GB using a microSD card and an additional 5GB of storage on Intex cloud.
Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 3G support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, aGPS and on the software front, it runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. The device also comes preloaded with apps like Intex’s Matrabhasha, Intex Play, Intex Game Club, BigFlix, NQ Mobile Security, OLX, Opera mini,
WeChat and Zapak.
