Intex has launched the Aqua Qwerty smartphone, its first smartphone to feature a touch screen as well as a QWERTY keypad. The Aqua Qwerty is a 3G-enabled dual-SIM phone priced at Rs 4,990.
Talking of the features, the phone has a 3.5-inch HVGA (480×320 pixels) touch display and a QWERTY keypad placed below the display. The phone is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor coupled with a 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory, expandable by up to 32GB using a microSD card. The phone comes with a 5-megapixel rear camera and a VGA front-facing camera.
Connectivity options include 3G (HSPA) support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and on the software front, it runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
Currently, Nokia has a few Asha devices with similar form factor, however these phone do not run on Android OS. Considering there aren’t many phones to feature touch and type form factor, the Aqua Qwerty has sort of a clear field to operate in.
