After launching entry-level phones like the Aqua and the Aqua 4.0, Intex has added two more budget phones to its Aqua range. Called the Intex Aqua SX and the Intex Aqua Star, both the smartphones are priced below Rs 5,000.
In terms of specifications, the Dual-SIM Aqua SX sports a 3.5-inch TFT capacitive LCD (480×320 pixels) display and is powered by a 1GHz MediaTek MTK6515 processor and 256MB RAM. Other features included in the phone are a 5-megapixel rear camera, VGA front camera, 128MB of internal storage which is expandable to 32GB using a microSD card, connectivity options like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and a 1,450mAH battery. In terms of software the Aqua SX runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
Not a lot is known about the Aqua Star except that the Dual-SIM phone too runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and features a 4-inch display, 1GHz processor, a 3-megapixel rear camera and a 1.3-megapixel front camera.
Though there is currently no word on their availability, the Intex website has listed the prices with the Aqua SX priced at Rs 4,490 and the Aqua Star at Rs 3,990. The price range means these phones on launch will compete against the likes of Karbonn A4 and the Micromax Ninja A54 among others.
