Intex ELYT e7 with Android Nougat launched, priced at Rs 7,999: Features, specifications

The new Intex ELYT e7 will face stiff competition from the likes of the Xiaomi Redmi 4.

Intex has announced a budget smartphone, Intex ELYT e7 in the country. The phone is in the sub-Rs 10,000 category and will compete with the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Redmi 3S Prime in India. In terms of features and specifications, the phone is average. The phone focuses on the front as well as rear camera and is aimed at photography enthusiasts looking for a budget photography-intensive device. It is priced at Rs 7,999, and it is an Amazon India exclusive.

In terms of design, the phone is nothing spectacular. It’s a very simple and a plain looking phone. The front sports the display and the earpiece grille and front camera with sensors on the top bezel. The bottom bezel sports three capacitive buttons. The rear of the phone houses the camera module on the top with the flash on the left of the lens. Under the lens is the physical fingerprint sensor button, and below that is the Intex logo. The power button and the volume rocker are on the sides of the device.

Coming to the specifications, the Intex ELYT e7 sports a 5.2-inch HD (720p) IPS display with a 2.5D curved glass. The phone comes with the 64-bit MediaTek quad-core processor clocked at 1.25GHz. There is 3GB of RAM, and 32GB internal storage, which can further be expanded up to 128GB. The phone runs on Android Nougat 7.0 out-of-the-box. It comes with all the features of Android Nougat like split screen mode, multi-tasking, ’Doze’ power-saving mode that restricts device functionality once the screen has been off for a period of time, and more. Coming to the camera, Intex ELYT e7 sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with single LED flash. On the front is a 5-megapixel camera. The dual-SIM phone is 4G VoLTE compliant, and supports OTG. The device comes with a 4,020mAh battery, which Intex claims provides over 15 hours of talk-time.

The phone will compete with Xiaomi Redmi 4, which is priced at Rs 6,999. To compare the specifications, the Xiaomi device comes with a 5-inch HD display and a Snapdragon 435 chipset. There are three internal storage variants – one is 16GB and comes coupled with 2GB RAM,  32GB with 3GB RAM and 64GB with 4GB RAM. On the rear is a 13-megapixel camera with PDAF. The selfie cam is 5-megapixel.
