Samsung has started sending out invites for an event on May 28 in San Francisco, in which it will launch some health-related tech, probably health-related apps for its smartphones or a Gear Fit-type wearable device. Rumors are on rife that that the company would be launching something on the lines of the rumored Apple’s fitness tracking HealthBook app for iOS 8, which is likely to get launched at the company’s annual WWDC developer conference schedule to happen a week after Samsung’s event.
The company’s invite says that “A new conversation around health is about to begin.” Though this is all it says, and Samsung has not disclosed much about the event. Samsung has last year as well launched its Gear smartwatch before the Apple could announce its iWatch, which was expected to get launched last year.
We find it a bit unlikely for Samsung to launch a new hardware product after launching the Gear Fit last month.
