Yes, its that time of year again, when iPhone leaks start coming thick and fast. Today, images of an advanced iPhone 5 have surfaced and they suggest that it could be nothing else but the iPhone 5S, according to Chinese blog Giz China. The image was apparently taken inside a Foxconn factory and shows the back and front panels of the device. This has led to a lot of buzz being generated about the device that will most likely be launched much sooner than was expected.
If the photos are true then there will be no design changes in the iPhone 5S from the iPhone 5 but the hardware will be much better. Giz China also speculates that the photos look authentic but they could be of a factory that manufactures fake iPhones.
Sina Tech, another blogger has also rumored that there will be more than one variant for the advanced iPhone 5. The blog also claims that a ‘friend’ who works in the factory of an iPhone supplier has seen models of the iPhone 5S and even the iPhone 6.
The rumors of Apple making a more affordable version of the iPhone also have been resurfacing in the last few weeks.
All the rumors make it clear that Apple will definitely launch at least one new iPhone variant at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) that will take place sometime in June.
That said, in the last two years Apple has not launched a iPhone a WWDC. The iPhone 4S was launched at a special event at the Apple campus, one day before the passing of Steve Jobs in October 2011. The iPhone 5 was launched in September 2012, so it will be just prudent to just wait and watch.
