Kerala government to distribute 10,000 Raspberry Pi computers to schools


The government of Kerala is planning to distribute 10,000 units of the Raspberry Pi to schools in the state. The Raspberry Pi is a $25 single board computer that was developed by UK’s Raspberry Pi foundation to promote programming and computer skills in schools. The government aims to spend over Rs 500 crore to promote startups, the Hindu BusinessLine reports.

The Raspberry Pi foundation announced it had produced more than 2 million units of the device in November, less than two years after the first batch was produced.
