Lava has today added a new smartphone to its Iris range called the Iris 550Q. This mid-range device with a 5.5-inch display and quad-core processor is priced at Rs 13,000.

Talking of specifications, as mentioned above, the Iris 550Q flaunts a 5.5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) display and is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz and paired with 1GB of RAM. It also offers 4GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card.

At this price point, the Iris 550Q will be up against the likes of Xolo Q2000 and the iBall Andi 5.5N2 Quadro. The Q2000 is slightly more expensive (Rs 14,999) and for the extra buck you get a better rear camera (13-megapixel) and more internal storage (8GB). The Andi 5.5N2 Quadro too is near identical to the Iris 550Q, albeit with a better rear camera (12-megapixel) and a slightly smaller battery (2,500mAh).
