Lenovo launched its first smartphone with thin bezel design in the form of Lenovo S5 in China last week. The company is now following up with two more models. The company has just listed affordable K5 and K5 Play models on its website.
The Lenovo K5 and K5 Play comes with the same design language first seen on S5. The Lenovo K5 comes with a 5.7-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels and aspect ratio of 18:9. The smartphone is powered by a MediaTek MT6750 SoC clocked at 1.5GHz. The Lenovo K5 offers 3GB RAM and 32GB built-in storage and also supports expandable storage via microSD card slot.
The Lenovo K5 series also revives the ZUI first debuted with company’s Z series. The Lenovo K5 comes with ZUI 3.1 Lite based on Android Nougat. It sports a combination of 13-megapixel primery camera with f/2.0 aperture and a secondary 5-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture at the back. The K5 features an 8-megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture.
The Lenovo K5 measures 153.8 x 72.7 x 7.8 mm in dimensions, weighs 160 grams and sports a fingerprint sensor at the back. The smartphone is backed by a 3,000mAh battery and is now available for pre-order for RMB 899 (around Rs 9,000). The smartphone goes on sale starting April 10 in grey, black and blue color.
The Lenovo K5 Play, on the other hand, is a cheaper offering priced at RMB 699 (around Rs 7,000). The K5 Play sports an identical 5.7-inch HD+ display but uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 SoC. It comes in two storage models: 2GB RAM variant with 16GB storage and 3GB RAM variant with 32GB storage. The smartphone also supports microSD storage for expandable memory.
The K5 Play also features dual rear camera setup with a 13-megapixel and a 2-megapixel image sensor. It also gets an 8-megapixel shooter up front for selfies. The Play variant comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and will be available in black, blue or gold color. The K5 Play is now available for pre-order and it will go on sale starting April 17.
