Lenovo has launched a trio of smartphones today, including the S5, K5, and K5 Play. The K5 lineup essentially includes budget variants of the S5 smartphone. The Lenovo K5 is priced at RMB 899 (approximately Rs 9,300) for the base model, while the Lenovo K5 Play is priced at RMB 699 (approximately Rs 7,300) for the base model.
All the smartphones are currently exclusive to China. Reservations for the Lenovo K5 and Lenovo K5 Play have started from today. Shipping for the Lenovo K5 will start from April 10, while the K5 Play will be available starting April 17.
Lenovo K5 specifications
The Lenovo K5 is equipped with a 5.72-inch display with HD+ resolution and 2.5D glass on the top. Under the hood is a MediaTek MT6750 SoC. There are four variants to choose from – 2GB RAM + 16GB ROM, 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM, 4GB RAM + 32GB ROM, and 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM.
For optics, there is a dual-camera at the back with 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensor combination. Up front, there’s an 8-megapixel sensor. It is fueled by a 3,000mAh battery. On the software front, the smartphone runs ZUI 3.1 based on Android Nougat.
Lenovo K5 Play specifications
The K5 Play differs from the K5 with the use of a polycarbonate chassis. It is equipped with a 5.7-inch display with HD 720p resolution. Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC.
For optics, the smartphone gets dual cameras at the back, which includes a combination of 13-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensors. Up front, there’s an 8-megapixel sensor.
Fueled by a 3,000mAh battery, the Lenovo K5 Play runs ZUI 3.7 based on Android Oreo. Other features include fingerprint sensor, face unlock, Bluetooth 4.2, dual-SIM, and 4G LTE support.
