Lenovo’s VP Change Cheng has recently announced on Weibo that the company is hosting an event on March 20. According to a report on GizmoChina, the post was published using a Lenovo S5 smartphone. The company VP has apparently been publishing a lot of posts using the unannounced smartphone, ever since late February. And now, the latest teaser image also suggests that the Lenovo S5 could be the phone that will be debuting on March 20.
Earlier this year, Cheng had teased a portion of the rear of a mysterious Lenovo phone, which sport a reflective metal body along with a curved design. It is speculated that that could be the Lenovo S5.
Another recently shared teaser hinted at the Lenovo smartphone arriving with ZUK’s ZUI Android skin. The smartphone has also been rumored to come with a hardware security chip. The purported device’s teasers have also suggested the smartphone packing a large battery. A 6,000mAh capacity has been a hint.
In the series of new smartphones, just last month, a device by the name Lenovo K520 was spotted at TENAA. As per the listing, the handset features a 5.65-inch display that offers an aspect ratio of 18:9 and Full HD+ resolution. It was shown packed with a 2GHz octa-core processor, accompanied with a 3GB RAM and 4GB RAM options, which would be paired with 32GB and 64GB storage options. The device was seen running Android 8.0 Oreo.
The Lenovo K520 was shown with a dual-camera setup at the rear, one of which will be an 8-megapixel sensor. The front will also apparently house an 8-megapixel camera. The device is expected to be fueled with a 3,000mAh battery. Now some rumors hint that the Lenovo K520 could be the Lenovo S5, however, the missing 6,000mAh battery as teased, seems to leave the puzzle incomplete.
