Lenovo is generating a lot of hype for its upcoming flagship smartphone, the Lenovo Z5. The device is scheduled to launch on June 14 and Lenovo VP Chang Cheng has been busy generating interest for the Z5. Cheng took to his official Weibo account to tease an insane “feature” or rather achievement if we are to believe the information. According to him, the Z5 will come with a whopping 4TB on internal UFS (Universal Flash Storage) 2.1 flash memory.

We are pretty sure that a majority of smartphone users don’t need this much amount of internal storage on their smartphones and a large chunk of this space is likely to go unused unless you are one of those who carries their entire movie or high-resolution audio library along with them at all times. But we all know that it is never about “Do we need this much” and instead it boils down to “How cool is this option”.

We just hope that people don’t complain about the lack of microSD card slot if Lenovo devices to omit the expandable storage slot in the Z5.

Cheng has been the primary source of all the information we have on the Z5 including the name of the device. He also pointed out that 4TB can hold up to 2000 HD movies, 1 million photos and 1,50,000 lossless music files. This comes days after he teased a sketch of the device and some glimpses of the renders of the Z5.

As previously reported, Cheng stated that Lenovo has managed to achieve four technological breakthroughs along with 18 patented technologies while manufacturing the device. He also hinted that the device may come with more than 95 percent screen to body ratio. Only time will tell us if Z5 stands tall on all these claims but we are truly hoping that with all the hype, Lenovo can push the smartphone design to next level.
