It is no secret that Lenovo is preparing for the launch of its flagship smartphone. Chang Cheng, the Lenovo Group VP, posted another teaser about the upcoming smartphone on his official Weibo profile. The teaser shows a sketch of the upcoming smartphone with an almost full-screen display. There are no notches or bezels in the sketch leading us to believe that maybe Lenovo has finally cracked the design that Apple, Xiaomi, and even Vivo have not been able to with their attempts.
You can also see the antenna bands on the sides of the device leading us to believe that the device may feature metallic frame. It appears that the device will come with a USB Type-C reversible port on the bottom, but it’s not very clear in the sketch. Cheng confirmed the name of the upcoming device to be Lenovo Z5. The “Z5” naming calls back at how Lenovo’s sub-brand Zuk named its devices. He confirmed the observation made in one of the comments in response to the teaser.
Cheng noted in the caption of the teaser that Lenovo has managed to achieve four technological breakthroughs along with 18 patented technologies while manufacturing the device. It is likely that the device may come with an under-display fingerprint sensor, and in-screen earpiece. We won’t be surprised if Lenovo has added a camera solution that retracts in the body of the smartphone, something that Vivo showcased with Apex during Mobile World Congress 2018.

If we are to believe the sketch then Lenovo is taking the fight to Xiaomi who recently launched the Mi MIX 2S. This new teaser comes days after the company posted another teaser with a generated render of the device on what the final may look like.
