Just yesterday, Samsung announced the new line-up of its Notebook 9 (2018) laptops, which Samsung said that it will be showcasing at CES 2018. Now, LG has pre-announced Gram laptops that will be unveiled officially at CES in Las Vegas in early January. LG is introducing three refreshed versions of the laptop- 13.3-inch, 14-inch, and 15-inch models.
The 2018 Gram laptops include Intel’s 8th-generation Core i5 and i7 processors, SSD storage, and an option for a second SSD drive. LG has not yet officially announced the entire list of specifications for the LG Gram laptops. However, the company claims that users will be able to boost work efficiency to 40 percent while booting time will be under 10 seconds.
The laptops have passed all seven MIL-STD 810G durability tests due to the Nano Carbon Magnesium full metal alloy body that is employed on the outer shell. LG Electronics claims that these laptops are 20 percent more durable compared to other magnesium products.
Another feature that LG is banking on is its battery life. The company is claiming that the 13.3-inch model will last up to 22.5 hours, while the 14-inch will last 21.5 hours, and the 15-inch model will run up to 19 hours on a single charge. The batteries have also been increased to 72Wh, up from the 60Wh in the previous models. Apart from that, users can get a touchscreen, fingerprint reader, and Thunderbolt 3 port. The fingerprint scanner will enable users to log in and power on at the same time with the press of a single button.
