LG today announced it is planning to launch the Optimus G Pro in India sometime in June this year. The announcement was made at its Tech Show event, which is underway in Delhi.
The Optimus G Pro is LG’s answer to Samsung’s Galaxy Note series, especially after the Optimus Vu did not create anticipated results, majorly owing to its display’s 4:3 aspect ratio. The Optimus G Pro runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz, coupled with 2GB RAM. It also features a 5.5-inch full HD 1080p IPS display with a pixel density of 400ppi.
Other specifications include a 13-megapixel rear and 2.1-megapixel front cameras, 32GB internal memory with a microSD card slot and a 3,140mAh removable battery with wireless charging capabilities. It runs on Android Jelly Bean 4.2. LG has also implemented some software features like dual camera recording that shoots from both the cameras simultaneously as well as 360-degree panorama photographs. LG had also announced a smart value software update for the Optimus G Pro that brought eye control video playback navigation, which was also seen on the Samsung Galaxy S 4.
LG did not announce any specific pricing for the Optimus G Pro when it is launched in India but it is expected to be upwards of Rs 40,000.
