LG Optimus L9 quietly launched for Rs 22,000

Back in August, LG had announced the Optimus L9, which was going to slot a notch below the Optimus 4X HD in LG’s portfolio. Today, the company has launched the product in India for Rs 22,000.

The Optimus L9 features a 4.7-inch IPS display with a qHD resolution, a 1GHz dual-core processor, a 5-megapixel camera and a large 2,50 mAh battery.

Software wise, it runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with the Optimus UI 3.0 running on top but LG has added some nifty features to the core functionality. It has the QTranslator app based off Optical Character Recognition (OCR) Technology and can scan entire sentences and phrases in 44 foreign languages to 64 user languages. This tech works in conjunction with the camera and an online translation engine.

Furthermore, the company has also added an adaptive keyboard called the ‘My Style Keypad’. It actually adapts to weather the user is texting single handedly or using both his fingers.
