LG has announced a new smartphone in its Q series, the LG Q8 2018. The mid-range smartphone from the South Korean company comes with a built-in ‘stylus pen’ and certified military safety standard ‘MIL-STD 810G’. It also highlights IP68 ratings for water and dust resistance.
The LG Q8 2018 will be available in Korea as of now. LG has priced it at 539,000 won (approximately Rs 32,000). The smartphone will come in Aurora Black and Moroccan Blue color options. There is no specific date of release as of now, but the announcement post by LG Korea (via FoneArena) notes that it will soon go on sale in Korea. For India release date, there is nothing being said by the company.

The all-new LG Q8 for South Korea packs a 6.2-inch full-HD+ FullVision Display display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 1080 x 2160 pixels resolution. While the design is very basic, LG has managed to keep the phone tough. It has been approved for military safety standard ‘MIL-STD 810G’ which is used by US Department of Defense, and additionally there is IP68 certification as well which is the highest grade of waterproof and dustproof ratings. It also comes with built-in stylus with pop-memo, GIF editing and more.
Inside, the LG Q8 packs an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM. It comes in one storage variant of 64GB which is further expandable by microSD card up to 2TB.

As for the two cameras, the Q8 packs a 16-megapixel rear camera with phase detection auto focus (PDAF). The front packs a 5-megapixel selfie camera which LG claims can take self portrait bokeh shots for even groups with its front ultra-wide angle lens.
The rear of the LG Q8 sports fingerprint sensor below the camera. Other highlights of the phone include Hi-Fi quality audio, DTS:X 3D Surround Sound, and Hi-Fi Quad DAC. It gets a 3300mAh battery with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging and USB Type-C port. The handset runs Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box.
