Digital mapping and navigation service and device provider, MapmyIndia has launched the new version 8.0 for maps of India including all MapmyIndia navigation solutions. The updated map version includes more of information, and new and improved navigation features in addition to the four regional language support.
The company claims that the maps now cover 10.33 million places including 1.9 million of road-kilometers, 6,00,000 villages, 4,787 cities at street-level, 50 cities at house-level and 46 cities in full 3D. This apart, these maps features advanced and localized navigation and driver assistance features such as extended lane guidance, junction views, sign-posts, live traffic update, city guides and rich points of interest, regional voice guidance and regional maps. The maps can support assistance in 10 regional languages and is also introducing regional maps in 4 local languages.
MapmyIndia is a domestic contender to the likes of Navteq, Google and others for mapping apps and services, and TomTom and Garmin for navigation products.
