Meizu is expected to launch three new smartphones under Meizu 15 series next month. The lineup will include Meizu 15, Meizu 15 Lite and Meizu 15 Plus and they have been confirmed ahead of their launch through an official listing on Android.com.
The listing reveals complete specifications of these three models along with their design changes. The listing spotted by Slashleaks reveals that Meizu 15 series will adopt a full screen display design but the bezels seem to be bigger than other similar smartphones.
The leak shows that Meizu 15 will feature a circular fingerprint sensor on the bottom chin of the device. It is expected to feature a 5.5-inch display along with 18:9 aspect ratio. It will have 4GB RAM and will arrive in either 64GB or 128GB internal storage. The listing also reveals that Meizu 15 will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat but might launch with Oreo.
Meizu 15 Lite, on the other hand, seems to sport a design similar to that of Meizu 15 but the Lite model will come in 32GB and 64GB storage. The name implies that it will be a toned down version of Meizu 15 and could offer a slower processor and cheaper price tag.
Meizu 15 Plus will be the larger model with 6-inch display and will have 4GB RAM and two storage variants. The smartphone will be available in 64GB and 128GB storage option. It is not expected to differ much from the regular Meizu 15 in terms of processor and overall aesthetics.
The Meizu 15 series seems to rely on a standard design and doesn’t bring anything exciting to the table. The smartphones will be made official in April as part of company’s fifteenth anniversary. Meizu might have a trick up its sleeve in the software department but it might not be enough to compete against Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo.
