Meizu has officially announced its E3 smartphone today. The Meizu E3 is currently exclusive to China and packs impressive hardware. The smartphone will go on pre-order on March 26, while the shipping will begin from March 31.
The Meizu E3 will be available in color choices of Champagne Gold, Black, and Blue. As for the pricing, the Meizu E3 will be available in two variants, one with 64GB internal storage, priced at 1,799 CNY (approximately Rs 18,500), and the second model with 128GB internal storage, which is priced at 1,999 CNY (approximately Rs 20,600).
There’s also a limited Meizu E3 J-20 Edition which is named after the J-20 fighter jet. It is priced at 2,499 CNY (approximately Rs 25,800). The key difference between the regular models and the J-20 Limited Edition is the rear panel which features the fighter jet graphics, and comes with a memorial card and a custom J-20 SIM-eject tool.
Meizu E3 specifications
The Meizu E3 features a metal unibody design and adds to the 18:9 display phones available in the market today. It packs a 5.99-inch IPS LCD screen running 1,080×2,160 pixel resolution. Under the hood, Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 octa-core SoC with Adreno 509 GPU and paired with 6GB of RAM with 64GB/128GB of internal expandable storage.
For optics, you get a pair of dual cameras at the back. The system includes a combination of a 12-megapixel Sony IMX362 (1/2.55″, 1.4µm) sensor with f/1.9 aperture and dual-pixel autofocus, and a 20-megapixel Sony IMX350 (1/2.8″, 1.0µm) sensor with f.2/6 aperture with PDAF. The setup is complemented with a dual-tone flash. The camera also supports Portrait Mode and promises up to 2.5x lossless zoom. For selfies and video calling, there is an 8-megapixel f/2.0 aperture camera on the front.
The smartphone is fueled by a 3,300mAh battery, which supports 20W fast charging. On the software front, the Meizu E3 runs Android 7.1.2 Nougat out-of-the-box with Flyme OS 7 layered atop. Other features include a fingerprint sensor on the right of the device, which is claimed to unlock in 0.2 seconds.
