As expected, Meizu has today launched its first smartphone of 2018. The Meizu M6s has been launched in China, but there’s no word yet about an international launch. Here’s everything you need to know about the new Meizu M6s.
As you would expect from a 2018 smartphone, the Meizu M6s’ highlight is its 18:9 aspect ratio screen. It flaunts a 5.7-inch in-cell display with HD+ (1440×720 pixels) resolution and 450 nits brightness. There are very thin bezels surrounding the screen, and it’s wrapped under 2.5D curved glass.
Meizu M6s specifications, features
As far as the rest of the specifications go, the Meizu M6s comes with Samsung’s Exynos 7872 hexa-core SoC that comes with four Cortex A53 efficient cores, and two Core A73 performance cores. The chipset is paired with Mali G71 GPU. The smartphone has been launched in two variants – 32GB and 64GB. Both variants come with 3GB of RAM.
For photography, the smartphone is equipped with a 16-megapixel primary camera with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF and HDR support. For selfies, there’s an 8-megapixel camera up front with f/2.0 aperture, intelligent facial brightness enhancement, and an adaptive beauty mode.
Making sure everything ticks is a 3,000mAh battery that is claimed to be good enough to offer up to 9.5 hours of video playback. The battery also supports fast charging support, and Meizu says that it can be charged up to 50 percent in 30 minutes. On the software front, the device runs Android OS wrapped under Flyme 6.2 UI.

The Meizu M6s is also equipped with a fingerprint sensor on the side panel. Despite the odd position, the company says that the sensor feels natural in day-to-day usage, and can unlock the device in just 0.2 seconds. Another interesting feature is what Meizu calls ‘Super mBack’. Essentially, there’s a dedicated sensor chip and vibration motor placed towards the bottom of the display. Navigation is taken care of with simple gestures.
