Micromax launches Android smartphone that pays buyers to watch ads


Last week we reported that Micromax was readying a smartphone, which also allowed users to earn money for watching advertisements. Today, the Indian smartphone vendor has launched the Canvas mAD A94 in India for Rs 8,490.

As mentioned above, this phone’s USP is an in-built app which pays you for watching ads. By registering on the app, you will be able to earn points for every ad watched which can then be converted to real world money. This money will be credited to your prepaid or postpaid account.

Talking of the phone’s specifications, the Canvas mAD A94 sports a 4.5-inch FWVGA (480×854 pxiels) display and is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz and paired with 512MB of RAM.

Other features include a 5-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera, 4GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card and a 1,800mAh battery, which the company claims is good enough for 5 hours of talktime and 150 hours on standby mode.

Connectivity options include, 3G support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and on the software front, it runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. At this price point it will be up against the likes of the ZTE Blade G2 and Spice Stellar Mi 495 among others.
