Micromax Canvas Plex Tab expected to launch in India soon, images leaked

The Canvas Plex Tab might be the first Micromax post its partnership with Eros Now.

Micromax recently launched its flagship device, the Canvas Infinity for Rs 9,999 in India. The smartphone comes with Galaxy S8-like infinity display with 8:9 edge-to-edge screen. However, now, the company is focusing on launching another product, and this time it’s a tablet. The company is expected to launch its first tablet of the year very soon. While the launch date is not known at the moment, thanks to the leaks, we know that the tablet will be called Canvas Plex Tab.

According to IndiaToday, Micromax Canvas Plex Tab will be launched in collaboration with Eros International’s digital platform Eros Now. Information about the Canvas Plex Tab is sketchy at the moment, however, given the partnership with Eros Now, the tablet is expected to ship with pre-installed content from Eros Now.

To recap, Micromax had partnered Eros Now last year to provide seamless digital content to its users. Eros Now, as a result of this partnership, expected to gain a user base of 3.5 million. Under the partnership, all Micromax devices will be pre-installed with Eros Now app. Users will have access to unique content on Eros Now with this subscriptions. Few images of what is said to be the Canvas Plex Tab have surfaced online. Going by the leaked images of the upcoming tablet, it appears that it might come with a metallic body. At the back, the tablet is expected to come with a camera on the top-left corner along with LED flash, while at the base there are two speaker grilles. Apart from that, the tablet is also expected to come with DTS sound that is said to improve the overall sound quality of the tablet. Rumors suggest that the device might come with either 7-inch or 8-inch display, and run on Android Nougat out-of-the-box.

Micromax last launched the Canvas Tab P681 tablet. The tablet featured an 8-inch IPS (800×1280 pixels) display, MediaTek MT8321A quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and 16GB of onboard storage. The rest of the features included a 5-megapixel rear camera with auto-focus, 2-megapixel front camera, 4,000mAh battery, and it ran on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
