Micromax has announced Canvas Plus 2, a new device that brings back the legacy of homegrown smartphone maker’s Canvas series. The new smartphone comes with a design that aligns with modern smartphone design and has a budget price to go along with it.
“Canvas 2 was the first smartphone that we launched in our Canvas range of smartphones back in 2012, which reinvented the way consumers looked at their smartphone as it led to the democratization of technology in India. Over the last few years, as the Indian handset and telecom industry has undergone dynamic shift, the focus of consumers is shifting from just the hardware, to overall connected experience,” said Vikas Jain, Co-Founder, Micromax Informatics.
Micromax Canvas Plus 2 Price and Specifications
Micromax Canvas Plus 2 features a modern design with jet black finish on the back and slim 8mm profile. The smartphone comes with a 5.7-inch display with a HD+ resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio. It comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage along with support for expandable storage.
Under the hood, the Micromax Canvas Plus 2 is powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. On the camera front, it gets a 13-megapixel rear camera that has an 80-degree field of view and support for modes like time lapse and beauty view. It also offers an 8-megapixel selfie camera, which the company claims can be used to click groupfie as well. The camera system has been placed vertically on the back, which resembled Apple iPhone X.

The Micromax Canvas Plus 2 runs Android Nougat and supports 22 regional languages. It sports a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and is backed by a 4,000mAh battery. The smartphone also offers features like face unlock and is available from leading retail outlets at Rs 8,999.
