Microsoft accounts get two-step verification service
Microsoft has recently been updating its applications and services across platforms, and after bringing out a major update to its Outlook.com Android app, it is now rolling out a major security upgrade across its services that would be rolled out to all users over the next couple of days. Considering the increasing security issues and other threats on the web, the update will bring an optional two-step verification to help Microsoft keep its user’s accounts more secure.
Microsoft claims to have 700 million users of its devices and services, and following the demand of a better and secured system, is adding this two-step verification process. It will enable optional verification service for all Microsoft accounts along with related services.
A year back, Microsoft started with this simple and quick verification process for certain activities, like editing credit cards and subscriptions at commerce.microsoft.com and xbox.com, or accessing files on another one of your computers through SkyDrive.com.
