This year, Microsoft Build and Google I/O coincide on the same week in May

Microsoft has announced the dates of its annual developer conference. Build 2018 will kick off on May 7 this year, and will go on till May 9. This year, the conference will be held at the Washington State Convention Center.

Build 2018 overlaps with Google I/O 2018
What’s interesting about these dates is that Microsoft’s Build 2018 will clash with Google I/O 2018. The search giant’s annual developer conference this year is scheduled for May 8-10 in Mountain View, California. Registrations for the Build conference will kick off on February 15, and the full conference pass will be available for $2,495 (Rs 160,702 approximately).
Mixed Reality, Surface laptops and improved Cortana
It’s been quite the year for Microsoft as it focuses on Windows Mixed Reality, new Surface laptops, and improving Cortana to compete against rivals such as Amazon’s Alexa, Apple’s Siri, and Google’s Assistant.
At this year’s Build conference, we could see Microsoft talking about a new Windows 10 update, Progressive Web apps, and even the highly rumored Andromeda device. We could also see the company announcing new skills for Cortana, as well as announce partnerships with more hardware companies. Lastly, having rebranded its augmented reality system to Windows 10 Mixed Reality, Microsoft may announce new motion controllers or other VR-based hardware.
