Microsoft has launched the Surface Book 2 and Surface Laptop in India. The Redmond-based software giant is expanding its Surface lineup beyond Surface Pro in India for the first time. The Surface Book 2 and Surface Laptop were globally announced in October last year and Microsoft is finally making them available to Indian consumers as well.

It is not surprising that Microsoft is launching two of its most premium in India. According to International Data Corporation, the Indian PC market started the year on a positive note with traditional PC shipments increasing by 8.2 percent year-over-year. During the second quarter of 2018, IDC notes that the global PC market recorded its strongest year-on-year growth in more than six years. Microsoft wants to capitalize on this positive synergy around PC shipments and to do so, it needs to expand availability of Surface and as one of the fastest growing market for connected devices, India has become the obvious stop.

At an event held in the national capital, Microsoft announced the availability of Surface Book 2 and Surface Laptop. While they might be nearly a year-old device, Microsoft is offering them with latest eighth generation Intel Core processors leaving no reason for complain. The Surface Book 2 is being offered in 13-inch and 15-inch screen sizes and are aimed at prosumers while the Surface Laptop is aimed at back-to-school shoppers, enterprise users and professionals looking for lightweight device.
