Motorola is expected to showcase its flagship smartphones at MWC 2018, which kicks off on February 26, at Barcelona, Spain. And just days ahead of the official launch, the Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play have been leaked in two different instances.
The codenames of the Moto G6 lineup were spotted by tipster Evan Blass who revealed that the Moto G6 Play sports the codename Ashley, whereas the Moto G6 and G6 Plus are codenamed Blaine and Teller respectively.

Additionally, the Moto G6 Play was also spotted on GeekBench benchmarking website, where the listing reveals a bunch of specifications. The listing reaffirms that the Moto G6 Play will likely be powered by Snapdragon 430 SoC. The listing also suggests the smartphone will be equipped with 3GB of RAM. The device is shown running Android 8.0 Oreo. A previous leak of the smartphone tipped at a 5.7-inch display with a Full HD+ (2160×1080 pixels) resolution, and backed by a 4,000mAh battery.
The Moto G6 Play scored 1,801 points in multi-core test, and 472 in single-core performance benchmarks.
Additionally, previous leaks also suggest that the Moto G6 lineup will feature taller 18:9 aspect ratio display, and a dual camera setup that closely resembles the Moto X4. Reportedly, the Moto G6 Plus and the G6 Play will sport a front-mounted fingerprint sensor, whereas the Moto G6 will come with a rear mounted one.
In line with today’s leak, some previous reports also claim the Moto G6 Play could be powered by the Snapdragon 430 SoC, the Moto G6 Plus has been speculated to be equipped with a Snapdragon 425 SoC. If true, that is not very good news, since the Moto G5 and Moto G5s, were also powered by the same chipset.
