Lenovo-owned Motorola is today expected to debut its Moto G6-series of smartphones in India. The series was first unveiled in Brazil, which included three new smartphones – Moto G6, Moto G6 Play, and Moto G6 Plus. Out of these three, the company is today expected to launch the Moto G6 and the Moto G6 Play for the Indian market.
Today’s launch event is quite important for Motorola for various reasons. The Lenovo-owned company has lost key executives, and is also under tremendous pressure from Chinese players like Xiaomi and Honor. The Moto G6 smartphones then are seen as two devices that could help turn things around for the company.
As the name suggests, the Moto G6 and the Moto G6 Play are the successors to last year’s Moto G5-series smartphones. With the smartphones having been already launched, we know the kind of specifications and features they will come with. What we await is the details on their pricing and availability. Based on recent teasers and leaks, the Moto G6 is expected to be exclusively available via Amazon India, while the Moto G6 Play will be a Flipkart exclusive.
