Days ahead of the official launch of the Motorola Moto G6 series, hands-on photo of one of the models have been spotted online. The new photo showcase the Moto G6 Play in all its glory, leaving only its pricing to a mystery. Motorola will be hosting a launch event on April 19 in Brazil.
Based on the leaked photo, the Moto G6 Play, will have a glass build, reminiscent of last year’s Moto X4. One of the differentiating factors will be the 18:9 display. It is worth mentioning that even if the display is edge-to-edge, the overall design language of the smartphone continues to be the same with the familiar curved edges. It continues to sport a regular fingerprint sensor up front.
The hands-on photo was spotted on SlashLeaks, which also throws light on the specifications of the upcoming Moto G6 Play. Based on that, the Moto G6 Play will sport a 5.7-inch HD+ Max Vision display. It will be powered by a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core SoC paired with 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage expandable via microSD card.
For optics, it is likely to pack a standard camera system. There will be a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera with a dedicated front flash. The smartphone will be fueled by a 4,000mAh battery. While the image does not mention the OS version, we can expect it to run the newer Android Oreo out-of-the-box when the smartphone is launched. Other features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, micro-USB port, and dual-SIM support.
