Aadhaar card will have no smart chips
In a Twitter chat, CEO of UIDAI, Dr Ajay Bhushan Pandey, answered a query by BGR India, which revealed that there will be no smart chips on Aadhaar cards, as opposed to what has been speculated.
Pandey said, “Aadhaar is a digital identity based on your biometric and also your mobile number which is linked to Aadhaar. It is not based on any smart card or chip. Because it is based on biometrics, therefore there is really no need for any chip or any smart card in Aadhaar.”
mAadhaar on iOS
In July 2017, UIDAI launched the mAadhaar app for Android, however, in the same Twitter chat mentioned above, the authority chief also announced that the app will soon be coming to iOS.
Moto X4 64GB variant
Today, Motorola announced an all-new Moto X4 in India, which comes with 6GB of RAM and and 64GB of storage. The smartphone comes with Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box. The new variant is priced at Rs 24,999, and will be exclusively available on Flipkart and Moto Hubs. It will start selling from 11:59PM on January 31.
HTC U11 Android Oreo update
After rolling out the update for the US and Taiwanese market, HTC today announced the Android Oreo update for HTC U11 for India as well. HTC India announced that starting January 30, HTC U11 users in India will start to receive the new version of the operating system.
OnePlus 5T buyback program
OnePlus today announced a buyback program for the OnePlus 5T smartphones, where you can exchange an old device to buy a new OnePlus smartphone at a lucrative discount. It must be noted that the buyback service can be availed after an order for a new OnePlus smartphone has been placed through the official oneplusstore.in.
